Meet artist Sandy Gray-Murray and her husband, wine maker Jason Murray. Jason makes all the wine for Chateau OBrien winery in Markham Virginia. Sandy makes all original artworks inspired by the Markham vineyard. All of the imagery is taken from the scenery at Markham. Every leaf and vine tendril is taken from the site. Every grape on every cluster is handmade and created with great care and detail. When a barrel goes out of production, it is taken apart and used to create unique works of art. Particular attention is paid to the design of the work in order to preserve the natural beauty of the barrel.
The OBriens are big fans of Sandy's artwork and it can be found throughout the winery - in the wine tasting rooms, on the covered, and in the private cellar; and more of her work is available for purchase in the winery's wine shop.
